Kirstie’s Homemade Fair

I saw Kirstie’s Homemade Fair being advertised back in March and bought early bird tickets for my Mum and I to go for her birthday present.

We didn’t really know wharf to expect and coming a week after Ted stated school I hadn’t really put much thought into it.

As part of the ticket price you got to choose a grand make – we did gift wrapping with Jane Means. For which we tied fancy bows.

We went to a talk, Kirstie Allsopp in conversation with Kaffe Fassett. I love his great use of colour and that he does stuff on such a big scale.

The third thing was a smaller workshop where we made decopatch masks.

While the workshops and talk were good fun, we enjoyed more just walking around seeing the array of different and creative stuff on offer. There were two shopping marquees and lots of smaller tents with drop in crafts going on.  The people watching fodder was amazing. Mum and I were fairly restrained in the end, but could easily have spent a fortune! ( I was aware that the knitting & stitching show is coming up).

I did buy this scarf pin, it’s actually to go with a scarf I bought the yarn to knit, but in the mean time it looks great with a fabric scarf.

I also bought a couple of packs of fabric. I saw the tape measure fabric on quite a few stalls and love it! I need to make a plan to use it, but that’s a problem for another day ☺

All in all the atmosphere was great and there were loads of amazing things on offer! We’ll be going back next year.

I love comments so don’t be shy, let me know what you think…
